The Victims Regret-Greeko

The buzz of the cafe overwhelms my ears,
the steam blaster, the chatter.
The warm steam from the latte burns
my lips. My mind travels to the fight
I had with my mom this morning.
The posture of the people in the
table next to me changes, an
alarmed look. Then boom the bright,
orange fireball consumes the cafe.
It propels me through the window
with searing pains all through my
body. My life flashes in front of my
eyes, I regret the three words I said
this morning "I hate you."
Now I will never get to take them
back.

  1. I like how you did a section before the bomb and a section after the bomb. Also, how you tied in the mom. It added emotion to your poem and made something that kids can relate too. Good Job! I like it!!!

  2. Nico, I love how you included onomatopoeia (buzz, blaster, chatter) and alliteration(b,t,c) and assonance (a,e) in the first few lines of the poem. Fantastic job with enjambment and line breaks as well. The story draws your readers in and makes us all feel the regret at the end.
