The Office Worker

Every morning you wake up at five,

You put on your suit and prepare for the drive,

As you walk out the door you say bye to your wife,

While inside your head you think “I hate my life”,

Everyday is the same and you don’t know what to do,

You must quite your job and try something new,

The only problem is, to quite your job your scared,

Your afraid to lose your income and think your unprepared,

So to all you unhappy office workers old an young,

Don’t lose your life to work, for life has just begun,

Take the next step, let your freedom be unfurled,

Just take your family and see the world,

  3. Jack, I really like the first two stanzas - it develops the routine to show how one's life can get in a rut - good advice on seizing the day. The structured stanza and rhyme actually add to the rut feeling and contribute to the poem. You should have your dad get onto this site to read your poem...I'm sure he'd like it. Suggestions for change...I think you meant quit instead of quite and remember that commas go inside quotes.
