soar by marisa beggs

To my best friend
Although your life has ended
Our hearts will forever mend
I have hopes that you will run and play
like you used to back in the day
Realizations of this gentle circle we call life
have made me live and love
Someday we will meet again
and pick up ties where they were
meant to end.

  1. Marisa, I really like the raw emotion in this. I can really feel the power in your words. I think that maybe more descriptive words might help though. Good job :)

  2. Marisa, I like the last three lines of the poem - sad but comforting. I'm glad that the poem doesn't feel bitter, but expresses thankfulness and growth and hope. I would like to see more imagery in the poem.
