To the Snow God

Oh please dear snow god send some snow my way
just an inch or two would make my day
skiing, sledding, snow angels, snowmen
are all things your snowflakes send

When you're not there, it's hard to do
all the things for which my love is true
I'll do a dance, or sing a song,
but holding back is just so wrong!

  1. Jessie, I love your poem and I feel the same way!I love things like this because I like happy things. I'm aslo a fan of rhyming, and your poem has a great rhyme scheme. Maybe you could add some figurative language too. :)

  2. yayyy, i totally agree! i mean, we have been getting a little more snow now, but i am still wanting more! i am so relieved we will have a white christmas, i was worried there for a while.

i love how any of these poems, someone can relate to and feel the same way, no matter what it's about.

  3. Jessie, the rhyme scheme is really fun and makes me want to make it into a song. I also like how it captures the true feelings of many Steamboat residents, this poem really speaks to Steamboats culture. However, I agree with Linnea, some more descriptions or figurative language would really contribute to this poem!

  4. Jessie, I like your title and the line "but holding back is just so wrong." Cute and funny. But like your readers recommend, I'd like to see more figurative language and imagery.
