Morgan Cox/Obama's Burden

Under pressure from day one
The amount he has to do must weigh a ton
People are watching every step he takes,
Along with the decisions and laws he must make
Barack Obama is our first black President
Now needing to get our nation back on track
Left without words
Mouth frozen still
Eyes glued to the t.v.
As the world does the opposite of stand still

  1. Morgan, this was a good idea for a burden poem...how true it is! I like the first line...it has a nice rhythm. But some of the other lines feel a bit forced or have problems with rhythm (like the last line). I also like the line "Mouth frozen still" good imagery.
