Let Peace by Kayleigh Esswein

Let peace radiate,
Emanate from every cell and star,
Shine from the canyons to the cliffs,
Be the picture of sun rays.
Let peace ring,
Reverberate in every valley,
Resound from the timeless sunsets,
Be the harmony of waves.
Let peace attend,
Frequent capitals and country sides,
Escort the generations to come,
Be the future that saves.

  1. Kayleigh, this poem is so inspirational! I love the last two lines; it makes feel capable of creating a better world. The diction is also very good. Words like emanate, reverberate, and resound are very powerful. Great poem!

  2. I really like this poem, its deep and it talks to the soul. I agree with katie in the fact that we are the generation that will change the world. I also like the color of the poem because it is very peaceful and calming to the eyes.

  3. Nice job Kayleigh! I like the motif and the many natural and visual images you evoke. Strong word choice and alliteration too.
