After the Fact by Maxx Schaller

Walking the street after school
My eye catches asphalt,
Black and burnt
A crack running down for about 10 feet
A piece of scrap metal,
Sitting alone
My vision drifts to a glimmer of silver:
A sterling locket containing a picture,
An unknown face
Who could this be?
And what of their loved ones?
More importantly, who would commit such an act?
who COULD commit such an act?
They tell themselves paradise awaits
But hell on earth is no fine sight

Depression

The room is empty.
My mind is blank.
The night is warm.
Not knowing what to think.
Hearing the wind being so free.
Made me jealous.
Now thinking if something made real sense.
Being stock in this dark cave.
But i can't control any of these.

Darkness

I hear the chaos of the aftermath.

Sirens are blaring,

Frantic screams are increasing.

The smell of burning scorches my nose

Like the cold air on a winter day.

Smoke clogs my airway.

I feel trapped.

My mouth feels filthy,

It tastes of ash and dirt.

All I see is darkness.

Chris: Yeahahha… The Jews are Liars

Cole: Palestinians start fires

Chris: I hate when you say, we want it our way.

Chris: That we blew ourselves apart

Cole: That you, have ice for hearts

Chris: But lets make a new day, come join in on our way

Cole: Tell me why

Chris: we’re fighting over desert rock

Cole: Tell me why

Chris: We can’t start over and not give a fock.

Cole: Tell me why

Chris: Tell you what, it’s not too late

Chris: So let’s make a new day

Cole: Come join our forces

Chris: Come ride our horses

Together: Decide! It’s not too late, and we’ll have it our way.

Cole: Come say Hi!

Chris: To my neighbor named Morgetai

Cole: Say good-bye!

Chris: To a regime sitting so high.

Cole: Come and buy

Chris: Our olives and our F18’s

Together: We’ll have it our way!

Cole: Now I can see that as long as we live, we’ll have some place to be.

Chris: yeahhahh

Chris: We’ll rename in Canaan, we want you to vote

Together: And you’ll be a part of me!

Chris: We’ll give you, education.

Cole: To be a great nation.

Chris: We are

Cole: WE are

Chris: We are

Cole: We are!

Chris: A new Nation! You’ll have social security.

Cole: You won’t have terror emergencies!

Chris: We’ll have western Twinkies.

Cole: Tell me why

Chris: I’m gonna soon hear you say..

Together: We have it our way!

The Victims Regret-Greeko

The buzz of the cafe overwhelms my ears,
the steam blaster, the chatter.
The warm steam from the latte burns
my lips. My mind travels to the fight
I had with my mom this morning.
The posture of the people in the
table next to me changes, an
alarmed look. Then boom the bright,
orange fireball consumes the cafe.
It propels me through the window
with searing pains all through my
body. My life flashes in front of my
eyes, I regret the three words I said
this morning "I hate you."
Now I will never get to take them
back.

Time

Close to no tomorrow

Someone looks to me in sorrow

Hours go by

But still someone looks to me and lies

Minutes and minutes slip away

Trying to find the meaning of everyday

The clock is ticking, feel overpowered by the wave

As I wait, and wait to be saved

A Doll's Burden - Katelyn Ihrig

Stuck in place
can't move a muscle
a smile sits upon my face
I always have to keep my grace
even when my mind is puzzled.
the games we play can be quite fun
until my mommy has to run
and then I sit and wait for hours
until she brings me some flowers
and then our time begins again
with fun and laughter 'til the end.
