Let Peace Rise

People are people,
And all People are equal.
Don't stop at nonviolence;
Don't fall prey to silence.

Let an honest voice rise
Against hateful war cries,
Until the world is bright:
No hatred in sight.

  1. don't we all wish this? it is amazing to me, how an idea can be communicated and heard but to actually solve a problem is so much more difficult and strenuous. i liked it a lot! (:

  2. Awesome rhyme scheme! I like how you took a simple poem, but gave it it a deeper meaning that makes you think about the condition of the world.

  3. I too like your message. The poem makes it feel like a simple message, but it isn't. I especially like the line "Don't fall prey to silence." I would like to see you use more imagery and figurative language in your poem, though.
